Michael was a creative, genuine, thoughtful, and thought-provoking communicator and collaborative team player who helped our young startup in arts and culture research, distill and share complex barriers and solutions to gentrification and digital transformation in equity-seeking communities in Canada and beyond. Michael was our go-to person for logistics and outreach planning support as we hosted and documented the results of design-thinking workshops with impacted stakeholders across Ontario. Michael was also an adept researcher for the company's first international literature review on the roots, ripples, and responses to gentrification in the arts.

I have had the pleasure of working with Michael Pereira for several years; his time in Arts has bridged two Deans. Michael has been very instrumental in developing and implementing a robust social media strategy for the Dean of Arts. We have observed tremendous growth in the number of followers and engagement through social media channels. Michael is detail oriented, very conscientious and actively researches relevant content to create posts that align with our priorities. Most recently, he has produced several video clips that highlight our successes, promote our researchers and the Faculty of Arts as a whole. Michael is a valuable member of our team and he consistently exceeds expectations!

Extraordinary versatility, capacious creativity, impeccable attention to detail, sensitive application, critical awareness, depth of experience, habits of integrity, multilingual fluency, intercultural competence and a well-grounded, multimedia skillset that is both relevant and diversified: these are some of the many outstanding qualities I have observed in Michael's approach to work and life since January 2017: first as a grad student in my research methods course, then as a key team member on a six-month international conference delivery venture, then as a thesis student advisee, and most recently as a co-editor on a thematic peer-reviewed journal issue. In all of these roles, Michael has demonstrated excellence, made remarkable innovations and exceeded expectations. He has my highest recommendation. The team that works with him will flourish.

I had the pleasure of working with Michael in the Dean's Office at the Faculty of Arts. He's very thoughtful and takes great care in curating the great posts for Dr. Pamela Sugiman's Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. I even found stories in the Dean's posts that I haven't come across in my media coverage reports so he's very resourceful! He has also captured the essence of our Dean's "voice" in the messages he's written, which is not an easy feat to do. We were truly lucky to have him as a valued member of our marketing/comms team!
